The purpose of this post is to send a few reminders:
· Is your child new to GES, or new to a classroom this year? Please use the following link, if you have not had a chance to sign up for an intake conference with your child’s teacher next Wednesday, August 28th or Thursday, August 29th. These conferences are important for the best start to the school year. If you cannot make it work on the available times, please call or email school, or the teacher directly, to set up an alternate time. · Back to School packets have been mailed and should be arriving at homes over the next few days. Please drop off completed forms in the office when you come for your intake conference or on the first day of school.
· REMEMBER OUR FAMILY WORK SESSION FROM 4:00-7:00 PM, TOMORROW, THURSDAY, 8/22! There is much to do to prepare our school building and grounds for the first day of school, with jobs for all ages. Feel free to come early, if it fits your schedule better, or stop by any evening or over the weekend for outdoor jobs.
o Indoor work includes:
§ Setting up our new kitchen and preparing it for use!
§ Moving furniture
§ Painting in classrooms
§ Caulking and repairing classroom counters and sinks
o Outdoor work includes:
§ Spreading wood chips on the playground (bring a rake!)
§ Moving soil into the new planting beds in the hoop house
§ Pulling weeds in garden beds
§ Weed whipping around the grounds to make it tidy
§ Collecting trash in the woods. We have trash bags and some garden gloves, but bring your own, if you prefer
