First Week of School

Welcome to the 2019-20 school year, families!

It was a great first day of school, and so wonderful to have our spaces filled with excited, happy learners again!  There are a  couple important items to share with you this week:

BEACH DAY this Friday, 9/6!  - Families are invited to join us for lunch around noon at “Passion Pit”, near the east intersection of Hwy 61 and Old Shore Road.

o Please apply sunscreen to your child before coming to school.  It will be reapplied, as needed (only if we have received your signed permission slip).

o Dress your child in warm layers for wind, cold or rain, as well as appropriate footwear to walk on the beach, and  to/from the shore.

o Send a snack and bag lunch, as well as a water bottle.

LUNCH VOLUNTEERS NEEDED -  This is a great opportunity to try out our newly expanded kitchen!  There is now plenty of elbow room to prepare lunch for our students.  Great Lunch Coordinator, Angie Works sends the following message:

Dear Families and Friends,

If you have not yet looked over the Sign Up Genius for the Great Lunch Program for this year, now would be a great time to do so! https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080445ABAF22A31-201920

I am in search of 21 more volunteers!!  Some lunches cannot be served without additional help.  Tacos is one of those lunches...which would be incredibly sad, since that is one of the kids' favorite lunches.  There are also some opportunities to prep the night before: Cheesey Potato Soup, Lasagna, Meatloaf, Gumbo, Ham and Bean Soup, Turkey and Wild Rice Soup, White Chicken Chili, and Tuna Noodle Casserole.  Please call me if you have any questions, or need me to fill out the Sign Up Genius for you.

Thank you for your efforts!

Looking forward to an awesome school year!
