10.15.19 GES News

Autumn greetings, families!

While interesting and engaging learning takes place every day at GES, we do sometimes deal with challenging logistics.  This year, our Great Lunch hot lunch program has been struggling to connect volunteers to lunches for our students.  Please see the immediate changes below, and consider offering your input to move our hot lunch program into a better place.  Also, read on for information on great upcoming events at GES!

· GREAT LUNCH UPDATES:

o Due to the lack of lunch volunteers, the following Monday soup lunches are cancelled until after the Great Lunch Committee meets:

§ 10/21 – Turkey Wild Rice Soup

§ 10/28 – White Chicken Chili

o Volunteers are still needed in order to have the following Wednesday hot lunches:

§ 10/16 -Tator Tot Hotdish (planning on serving, but 1 volunteer still needed for tomorrow!)

§ 10/23 – Tuna Noodle Casserole – (no volunteers)

§ 11/20 – Lasagna – (no volunteers)

§ Contact Angie if you can help! – works.angie@gmail.com, or 218-370-9301.  Thanks!

o The Great Lunch Committee will  meet the  last Tuesday of each month, beginning October 29 at 3:30pm in the hospital cafeteria.

Great Lunch is being revived so that, as a group, we can work on the lunch issues and consider hiring a paid lunch worker/kitchen manager, instead of being dependent  on volunteers.

So far, these people have agreed to serve on the committee: Kirsten Bloomberg, Beth Kennedy, Judi Barsness, Angie Works, Amber Pfeil, Andrea Orest.  Please contact Beth Kennedy if you are willing to serve on the Great Lunch Nonprofit Board:  bkennedy@boreal.org.  Your input is valuable.  Please join us!
