The fawns classroom

In the Fawns classroom we work to create a cooperative, kind, and positive learning environment. We begin each day with ‘Morning Meeting’ as a way to welcome students to school, set a positive tone for the day, reinforce literacy and other academic skills, and develop community. The Fawns are focused on their school day and ready to learn!

Ages seven through nine are important years of development. During these years children   love working in groups. Fawns have plenty of opportunities for cooperative learning. The students also enjoy socializing and developing and sharing a sense of humor. They show increasing interest in how things are put together, rules, logic, and the natural world. The Fawns will:

  • build successful relationships,
  • increase their communication skills,
  • expand their academic ‘toolbox’

in a safe, nurturing environment that results in a positive attitude toward self and school.
