School Board Meeting Minutes
In Attendance:

4:05 Call to Order
by Barb Nagle
Welcome; and reading of mission by Nina Simonowicz.
4:08 Approval of Agenda
Motion: Nina Simonowicz moved to approve agenda as amended; Patty Nordahl seconded; ayes all. Amended agenda to include Food & Transportation Committee reports and items under Announcements.
4:10 Approval of Minutes
Motion: Nina Simonowicz moved to approve the August 25th minutes as amended; Patty Nordahl seconded; ayes all. Amendments included typos and that Board Development will meet in October.
4:12 Financial Report (Barb Nagle)
The Finance Committee met and discussed goals and reporting. "Smart Finance" software is being installed. We will have our Sep 15 reports to the state on time (for finances through June 30th). Deb is working on federal grant expense sheets and invoices.
Motion: Nina Simonowicz moved to approve bills paid July 1 through August 31; Suzy Schweig seconded; ayes all.
4:20 Committee Reports
Transportation (Nina Simonowicz)
Nina gave an update noting the need for two-way radios at a cost of apporximately $1600. The next Transportation Committee meeting will be Sep 9 at 2:30pm.
Food (Nina Simonowicz)
Discussed update and ideas for kids to participate. Watch for weekly hot lunches coming soon.
Policies (Patty Nordahl)
We will vote on #709 Student Safety Transportation Policy at the Sep 22 board meeting. Patty will implement and facilitate student education on the Harassment Policy.
4:44 Old Business
Educators' Report (Suzy Schweig & Amy Brown)
Educators will work on PLPs on Sep 12th and have family conferences on Sep 15th PLPs will address three goals - language arts, math and social. Wednesday afternoon planning time is occurring. Room divders are in progress. Group decided to wait on compost until we are at our new site.
Transitional Executive Director Report (Deb Dwyer)
Deb provided an update on a variety of topics including:
-new student registration;
-student participation on WTIP School News
-newsletter info needs to be funneled through Deb, who will pass it on to our newsletter editor, Bev Miller.
-information about religous education has been sent to all families.

::: Barb Nagle reported on the Joint Governmental/Education meeting.
::: Patty read a draft of a letter to students. She hopes to have it out in the next few weeks.
::: Kids Plus Meeting is Sep 9 at 5:30. Christina Anderson was awarded a grant enabling her to continue & expand the program.
::: We have great vendors and are grateful for the positive working relationships we are developing.
::: Nina noted we need to think about where we want to go with the website. We have a parent volunteer who may be interested in helping.
